Matter can have physical properties and chemical properties. These are qualities that help differentiate samples of matter from each other. Chemical properties have to be observed by changing the identity of the substance while physical properties do not. Examples of physical properties are density, color, mass, and malleability. Examples of chemical properties are flammability and corrosiveness.
